Quality Specification & Inspection Notes for Concrete Formwork
Key Point: Marking “WBP” Does Not Equal Uniform Quality
Quality ranking of adhesive grades: Phenolic WBP > Melamine MUF WBP > MR
Even if both boards are labeled WBP, phenolic glue delivers far better performance than melamine MUF glue.
Mandatory Boiling Test Standards (Must Be Stated in Sales Contracts)
- Premium Phenolic WBP Grade Passes 72 hours continuous boiling test with no delamination, complies with EN314-2 Class 3 standard.
- Mid-range Melamine MUF WBP Grade Passes 8 or 12 hours continuous boiling test with no delamination, complies with EN314-2 Class 2 standard.
- MR Moisture Resistant Grade Only suitable for cold water soaking test; cannot withstand boiling water and will delaminate quickly under boiling conditions.
Formaldehyde Emission Grades (Compatible with All Glue Types)
All adhesive formulas can be produced to meet different eco emission levels:
- E0: Formaldehyde ≤0.03ppm, mainstream standard for EU & North America markets
- E1: General universal grade for most global markets
- E2: Low requirement grade for cost-sensitive regions
